We’re delighted to be bringing jazz to the gorgeous Cotswolds town of Fairford. This special introductory concert will feature FIVE of the finest jazz musicians in the business, performing a carefully crafted show that will have something for everyone - jazz aficionado or not! Alex Steele (piano) and Paul Jefferies (double bass) have grafted their much loved show featuring the music of genius composer Burt Bacharach on to a clutch of classic Jazz pieces from the world of Blue Note - so you can expect music from Miles Davis, Sonny Rollins Thelonious Monk as well as Raindrops Fall on my Head, I’ll Never Fall in Love again and much more! The quintet will feature Brian Ferry’s saxophonist Robert Fowler, ace trumpeter Stuart Henderson and one of the finest young drummers around - Euan Palmer.

Led by the exceptionally funky guitarist Hugh Turner, this quartet really packs a punch. Saxophonist Ollie Weston performs all over the world with jazz, pop and rock ensembles - no wonder he has an awesome sound and pin-point accurate pitching that others can only hope to emulate. Ubiquitous bassist Paul Jefferies (www.pauljefferies.com) leads from the bottom end with decisive, driving lines that underpin the soundscape and propel the rhythm and his partnership with drummer Jasper Morrissey (son of the late great Dick Morrissey) drives this band into funky excellence.

Now resident in UK for 12 years, Marco Marconi first graced stages in Italy as a classical concert pianist, his move to the UK heralded a dalliance with jazz that has made him one of the most sought after players around. His new trio ‘AMP' is winning accolades in the jazz world for its light-hearted approach to jazz classics and bassist Paul Jefferies and drummer Alex Goodyear are the perfect match for Marco’s effervescence! With the additional of special guest and world class jazz violinist Ben Holder - this band will have your feet tapping from the first handful of notes played.

A ‘Barn-Stormer’ of a saxophonist - inventive, melodic and brilliant Jake McMurchie is a player of great distinction and we can’t wait to hear him at The Jazz Club at Fairford. He has worked with some of the biggest names in British Jazz and he’ll be on stage with the immensely talented Jonathan Taylor, bassist Paul Jefferies and awesome drummer Chris Nickolls.
